Mile-high hair. Synthesized sounds. Teenage rebellion. Elizabeth Ai was on a mission to excavate an untold story of rebellious punks in the chaotic world of 80s Vietnamese New Wave until she uncovers a hidden past. New Wave premiered at the 2024 Tribeca Film Festival, with support from Executive Producer Simu Liu. As the Production Designer, I worked alongside the director to source props from all over Los Angeles, including musical instruments, electronics, and a VHS camcorder I found on Craigslist.
